Surfing is an amazing sport that will challenge, entertain and educate! Let us take your students surfing on one of our ‘Beach Safety Days’ or NCEA Achievement Standard courses teaching students how to be safe at the beach through the enjoyment of learning how to surf.
Our surf schools will be offering our popular Surfing Education programmes to schools in Mount Maunganui, Orewa, Matakana & across Northland. All you have to do is get yourselves to the beach and we will do the rest! Over 250 schools have surfed with us over the last 8 years and the feedback is always AWESOME!!

Primary & Intermediate
Beach Surf Safety Days
Surfing Days for Primary and Intermediate Schools. Increase ‘beach safety' through experiencing the enjoyment of learning how to surf giving students the confidence to be active and have fun in the ocean.

Electives for Intermediates. Learning to ride that first wave will stay with you forever, let us teach the kids the fun sport of surfing during their electives.
NCEA Achievement Standards
Level 1 , 2 & 3
NCEA Achievement Standards. Students will attend two days of surf coaching with NZ Surf Academy and be taught how to read the surf conditions (wind, tide, rips, currents, waves) beach safety and beach hazards.
The students will learn the parts of the surfboard, position and paddling, getting out back using the rip currents safely, how to stand up and ride a wave, surf etiquette, catching clean and broken waves. The mix of coaching will be land and sea based. It is expected the students will spend a min. of 5 hours in the water before being assessed. Students will be given a Surf Workbook to study the theory of surfing to assist their assessment.
School Camps & Surf Tours
The best day ever!
School Camps. Experience the enjoyment of learning how to surf giving students the confidence to be active and have fun in the ocean. We're totally mobile and can assist any school camp from Cape Reinga to Bay of Plenty. Discuss your school surfing options with us. We can recommend accommodation and activities.
Surf Tours. Why not make the most of your school surfing experience with our multi day surf tours. We can organise accommodation and recommend beaches to surf. Achievement Standards can be part for the tour.
International Students Studying in NZ
Experience NZ through surfers eyes
We can offer International Students surf lessons, beach days or surf tours. Our 2hr or days surf lessons can be held at any of our locations developing useful and exciting skills while creating unforgettable memories.
Our Surf Tours run most school holidays for 6 days in Nothland/Far North. A great way to show off New Zealand’s coastline with such a fun sport for all. It's not just surfing, we'll mix in lots of great fun activities including beach volleyball, sand boarding Te Paki dunes or a sunset at Cape Reinga.
